This Side Up Tour into Namibia’s Wilderness
The This Side Up Tour will be a slow-paced journey. We won’t be rushing to cover as many kilometers as possible to see as much of Namibia as we can. Instead, we’ll take our time and often camp for two nights in the same place. This gives us all the chance to absorb the vibes of the landscape and reflect on our lives and futures. And we promise you – the carefully chosen spots would retain their magic even if we spent all three weeks in the same place.
Provisional Itinerary
Please note: Even though the This Side Up Tour is a safe, guided trip, it remains adventurous! It’s possible that we may need to make program adjustments just before or even during the trip.

Let’s go!
Departure from ZRH (Zurich Airport).

Hello Namibia!
Arrival in Windhoek. The Escape Crew will be waiting for us, greeting us and taking us to our first camp in the Erongo Mountains.

Namibgrens
As we head south, we spend a night at the border between the Erongo Mountains and the Namib desert. Be prepared for the most amazing sunrises coming up.

Sesriem
We spend two days in the worldfamous Namib-Naukluft National Park. While we do pay a visit to some tourist hotspots (you don’t want to miss Deadvlei), we will also discover places off the beaten path.

Blutkuppe
In today’s wilderness camp, we will experience what it means to be out in the wild.

Swakopmund
We will have a full day to discover the little coastal town of Swakopmund – but more interestingly and with a little luck – some exotic birds like free living flamingos and pelicans.

EHRA – Elephant Human Relationship Aid
EHRA’s mission is to ensure the long-term survival of the desert elephants by educating and supporting the local population to coexist peacefully with the elephants.
An experienced EHRA guide will take us on an elephant tracking adventure along the Huab River.

Eagle Rock
Pure wilderness in Damaraland. We’ll camp far from civilization, encounter wild animals, ancient Welwitschia plants, and experience breathtaking light landscapes.

Moni’s Camp
For the next two nights, we have more pure wilderness in store for you. You won’t find Moni’s camp on any map and noone you ask will be able to guide you to it. It’s our exclusive secret spot that we will share with you.

Filmhouse
The Filmhouse gets its name because it was built for a film—and it truly is cinematic. Nestled in the heart of nature, it’s simply breathtaking. Here, you’ll also have the opportunity to visit a Himba village.

Etosha
Admittedly, this is a bit touristy. But there’s nowhere else with as many wild animals to discover as in Etosha National Park. We’ll spend two full days on game drives and breathtaking evening outings to the waterholes. After that, we’ll head back to solitude. We promise.

Tsumeb
Today, we’ll leave the tents packed away for the night and enjoy the luxury of the mining hotel in the small mining town of Tsumeb.

Waterberg
Our last night in Namibia we spend at the table mountain Waterberg. Time to wind down and get ready for our flight home tomorrow. But not without one last amazing nature walk.
